Udar Molni class (Thunderbolts)

The original Phantom class was eventually redesigned in order to carry weapons. The normal fit was a pair of nose mounted Scythe cannon and point defence weapons in nose and tail turrets. Thunderbolts abandoned the smooth looks of the earlier Phantoms, had less cargo carrying capacity, but had higher performance, their FTL engines were capable of 954c although their sublight performance was only slightly better than the earlier ships.

Udar Molni were devastating when used en masse. They were comparatively cheap to build, 25 could be built in the time it took to make one Uhlan Destroyer, and each Udar Molni had the same firepower as an Uhlan.
