Kometa Fighters

The Kometas were the first ships to have any real success against the Dissenters. Using a 500 m3 armoured hull packed with engines and fuel, they could accelerate at nearly 18 gs for 20 days. They had enough fuel to get to near lightspeed but not enough to ever slow down again. Several solutions were tried. Carriers would patrol at near-lightspeed and launch their Kometas or C-Tankers would re-fuel and re-arm them, although this method was not liked as the risk of the slower C-Tanker not arriving to refuel them was worrying for the Kometa's 5 crew.
